Wa Alaikum Assalam - "And on you be peace." The reply to the Muslim greeting of "Assalamu Alaikum." (peace be on you).

Wahy - Revelation which consists of communicating God's Messages to a Prophet or Messenger of God. The highest form of revelation is the Quran of which even the words are from God.

Waihaka - May Allah have mercy on you.

Wailaka - Woe upon you!

Wala - The right to inherit the property of a slave you free.

Wali - Means guardian.

Walimah - A marriage banquet.

Waqf - Endowment, a charitable trust in the name of Allah.

Wars - A kind of shrub used for coloring yellow.

Wasaya - Wills or testaments.

Al-Wasil - One who keeps good relations with his kith and kin.

Wasilah - The means of approach or achieving closeness to Allah by getting his favors.

Wisal - Observing Saum (fast) for more than one day.

Witr - Means 'odd number'. Witr rakahs are odd number of rakahs such as 1, 3, 5, said after ones night prayer.

Wudu - Refers to the absolution made before performing the prescribed Prayers.
